The Kinley Caliper Tool is a multifinger tool run with Slick-line or Wireline unit to inspect production pipes and Casing inside the well; giving reliable information about the corrosion inside the pipes, registering and measuring also the pitings, rings, erosion, scale, wear and deformations.
Kinley has only Caliper Services that combines the best of two technologies. By combining a highly developed, dependable and time-proven mechanical design with the lastet in computer-generated reporting, Kinley supplies a cost-effective slickline service and the latest in computer processing. This unique “win/win” combination of economy, reliability, and usere-friendly Survey Report makes Kinley the first choice for Caliper Services worldwide.
Several tools are available for different piping sizes: 15 feelers Microscopic Caliper tool (MC), for 2-3/8 "to 4-1/2" production tubings; 15 feelers Baseline Caliper (KBC), for 3-1/2” to 5-1/2" tubing and 4-1/2 "to 7.0" Casing; 30 feelers Megadata tool (MD), for Casing from 5-1/2” to 13-3/8".
Kiley Calipers Features:
• Gives more reliable information on the full extent of corrosion inside the pipe than either iron counts or coupons. Measures pitting, rings, erosion, scale, wear, and deformities.
• Determines effectives of inhibitor program throughout the tubing string, not just one point.
• Repeat Surveys monitor the changing rate of corrosion.
• Finds weak tubing that could part during workover to prevent expensive fishing jobs.
• Mechanical design recosds a continuous analog readout for all the feelers all de time, Kinley Caliper readings are never compressed or “sampled” for ease of transmission up a line.
• Surveys at 3600 ft/hr on any line (and on coiled tubing with no cable required).
• Has no know H2S or pressure limit. Functions in temperatures up to 550 °F.
• Is accurate to +/- 0.01” to +/- 0.03” depending on feeler size and purpose.
• Survey Report is included in de basic price.
The Kinley Mechanical Perforator for Tubing Punch jobs is operated by means of an optimum propellant capsule, which can be operated by means of Slickline or Electricline.
When communication is required between the production tubing and the annular, the "Regular" Kinley Perforator is the ideal choice.
The Kinley Perforator uses a small propellant cap to induce a mechanical perforation through the pipe wall.
The perforation performs a perfectly round hole of the desired diameter. The hole can be replaced by a metal hole to lessen the erosive effects of fluid flow through it. Alternatively, an Insert or Check Valve can replace the perforation. The Check Valve will remain on the pipe wall to allow a controlled injection time point for Gas Lift operations. In any case, there will be no damage to the casing as a result of the operation of the Punch.
Aplication:
• Circulation and well control.
• Very low cost installation of gas lift or chemical injection.
• Circular towards the annular blocking or blocking of sand.
• Open circulation points for recoverable gas lift valves.
• To open alternative zones when the circulation sleeve does not work properly.
• Drain pipe strings avoiding to remove the dried string from the well.
