The JS2A and JS3A Retrievable Casing Packer is a full-opening, set-down type hook-wall packer that is applicable for use in a variety of well treating, testing and Tubing Conveyed Perforating operationes.
The packer are available in 4-1/2” through 9-5/8” casing sizes and feature a large internal bypass that provides a free flow of fluids through the packers during running, retrieveing, and circulating. This packer is ideal for use when high differential pressures from below the packer are anticiparted and utilizes hydraulics-actuated button-type slips to anchor the packer against upward movement.
Setting the JS2A and JS3A is accomplished by rotation 1/3 right hand turn at the tool and setting weight down. This one operation sets the slips, energizes the packing elements, and closes the bypass.
Retrieval is accomplished by straight pick-up of the tubing or workstring that opens the bypass to equalize pressure above and below the packer. Continued pick-up will retract the slips and allow the packing elements to relax. The automatic “J” system will engage and allow the packer to be retrieved or moved downhole and be reset.
Snap-Set Series (I, II, III, IV) Packers: The Snap Series Packers are compression set tools which only require straight set down weight to pack off. They are generaly run above another packer such as a Testing Packers for selective produccion, treating or injection in multiple zone complitions. They are also used to isolate casing holes or perforations.
The Snap I Packer is the basic packer of the series. This has upper or lower slips and should be used only where intermediate differential pressure is expected.
The Snap II Packer is a modification of Snap I Packer with the addition of upper hold down slips for use in applications where high differential pressure is expected from below the packer.
The Snap III Packer is designed with the lower slips to hold high differential pressures from above, whereas the Snap IV Packer incorporates both upper and lower slips to hold high differentials from either direction.
The Snap Series is designed with an internal latch which prevents the packers from presetting while running in the hole. The tools are keyed to allow tubing torque in either direction.
Features: Internal Bypass. Equalizing Valve. Internal Latch to prevent presetting. Pressure compensating piston on models II & IV.
The “AS” Model Retrievable Bridge Plug is a high pressure plug used for multiple zone and selective single zone operations such as acidizing, fracturing, cementing, or testing. The AS plug is designed with a large internal bypass which reduces swabbing when running and retrieving. The by-pass valve closes when the plug is set and opens before releasing the upper slips when unsetting to allow pressure equalization. The by-pass is located directly below the upper slips which helps to wash debris when the by-pass is opened.
The AS Plug can be set shallow in unsupported casing to allow pressure containment while working on well head equipment.
The AS plug are available in 4-1/2” through 9-5/8” casing sizes
Features: 1/4 right hand set, and 1/4 right hand release. Large bypass. Set shallow or deep operations. Pressure equalization before release. High pressure rating.
The Canada Tech Slimline II Gauge was the industry’s first ¾” downhole pressure gauge, and set the standard that competing gauges still try to meet.
The Slimline II Gauge uses a piezo-resistive pressure transducer and state of the art acquisition electronics to provide near-quartz quality, temperature-compensated data. Its sensor technology and small size provide for a very fast response to a temperature transient. The size and unique construction of the tool make it very resistant to physical shock and vibration. Experience has shown that the Slimline II Gauge operates very reliably at high temperatures.
The extremely efficient 3 Volt electronics provide for very low power con- sumption, allowing the tool to operate for long periods on a single AA cell lithium battery pack. This minimizes battery costs and eases shipping, as the small battery packs are not considered dangerous goods.
